Two more records for St. Lucia's Runako

National swimmer Runako Daniel set two age group records at Sunday’s Developmental Meet at the Rodney Heights Aquatic Centre. On Sunday the St Lucia Amateur Swimming Association hosted its November developmental meet at the Rodney Heights Aquatic Centre with local and overseas participants. The event was referred to as the “Longitudinal Swim Meet” as all of the individual events were freestyle and back stroke only. Highlights of the meet were the two Age group Records broken by national swimmer Runako Daniel in the 13-14 age group 100M Free with a time of 56.13 seconds and in the 50M Backstroke with a time of 29.73 The meet was well attended by all the major local swim clubs namely RHAC Sharks, Sea Jays Swim Cub, Racers Swim Club Sea Hawks Swim Club and Southern Flying Fish from Vieux Fort, with all the events keenly contested by the swimmers. The developmental meets are designed to accommodate the local swimmers in their ongoing training and especially for the swimmers who may not swim on the National team to assist their preparation. Even more significant with swimmer Daniels records is having set them while in preparation for the ASATT meet coming up in December in Port of Spain, Trinidad.
