The Love Movement’s presentation Love Notes, opening at the Queen’s Hall, St Ann’s, on Sunday, promises to be the most entertaining and soul-stirring production in its 42-year history, the group said in a news release.
In the first half of the programme Love Notes will feature the children’s choir and some members of the Republic Bank Love Movement Youth Outreach Group in the internationally acclaimed Disney stage production of The Little Mermaid, Jr.
This 60-minute musical is based on the 2008 Broadway production and 1989 animated feature film. Some of the music featured include the popular Under The Sea and Kiss The Girl sung by Sebastian the Crab, which will be brilliantly performed by David Isidore, the group said.
The famous Part of Your World, Ariel’s haunting aria, will be sung by the gifted Chloe Pollonais and Ursula’s dramatic aria, Poor Unfortunate Soul, will be sung by Imanuel Francis who plays the role of the evil sea-witch.
According to the Love Movement, the children’s choir has displayed a level of dedication and commitment to ensure its performance maintains the high standards set by Disney and Music Theatre International.
The second part of the concert will feature the Youth Outreach Group and the adult choir joining hearts and voices in celebration of ABBA’s 40-year anniversary. A medley of ABBA’s popular hits has been has been specially-selected including Thank You For The Music, I Have A Dream, Mama Mia, Dancing Queen, Waterloo and others.
The youth will then take the stage with the song Roar by Katy Perry. The adult choir will then present 100 years of Broadway.
This staged and nostalgic medley from many popular Broadway musicals will bring down the curtain, as the singers all join together to invite the audience to Consider Yourself One Of Us from the musical Oliver.
Love Notes will be under the expert drama direction of Dr Helmer Hilwig, with sets and costumes designed by Brian Mac Farlane of Mac Farlane Design Studios, along with exciting choreography by Franchesca Williams-Vazzana. The technical team will include Franklin Agarrat as sound engineer, Celia Wells as lighting designer, Marlon Francois as stage manager and will feature special effects by Fire One Fireworks and Soundvision Ltd.
The Love Movement says this production is for the entire family, with music to thrill audiences of any age. Due to the contractual agreement with Music Theatre International and Disney and the great detail and time put in to the production there can be no repeats of the concerts.
Patrons are advised to purchase tickets early to avoid being disappointed. This will be the Love Movement’s only production for 2014, the release said.
Funds raised will go towards the Love Movement Youth Outreach and Mentoring Programme.
