GROS ISLET, St Lucia, Monday May 4, 2015 – Starting this summer, making a splash in St Lucia will be more fun than ever when Reduit Beach in Rodney Bay Village becomes the home of the Eastern Caribbean’s first open-water sports park.

Billed “one of the Caribbean’s wettest and wildest family attractions,” Splash Island Water Park is set to open in August in front of the award-winning Bay Gardens Beach Resort & Spa, rated among the top 100 hotels in the World by Expedia and Fodors and recognized as one of the Caribbean’s top 25 Budget Family Friendly Resorts by The Family Travel Network.

Splash Island St Lucia promises a wide variety of on-water activities for all ages, including a trampoline, climbing wall, monkey bars, a swing, a slide, hurdles, double rocker, flip, and water volleyball.

With its many obstacle course-style features, the new attraction offers a floating playground with plenty of thrills and spills.

“It’s like being a contestant on “Total Wipe Out” (the TV game show) but much less intense,” notes Julianna Ward-Destang, Bay Gardens Resorts’ director and park developer.

Splash Island is an inflatable, modular water park manufactured by Wibit Sports, a German watersports company which has had over 15 years in the water park business and is in compliance with the strictest European safety requirements and testing related to materials and performance.

There are more than 200 Wibit water parks in over 60 countries, but Splash Island St Lucia will be the first in the Eastern Caribbean.

The new attraction will be staffed by a team of certified lifeguards and will operate daily from 9:00am to 6:00pm. Users of the water park must be six years of age and older and will be required to wear life vests.

Packages for admission to Splash Island range from hourly to full-day passes and include a half-day pass (4.5 hours) with lunch and drink; and a full-day pass with lunch, snack, two drinks and the use of a beach chair.

The new water park will be located just off Bay Gardens Resorts, a group of award-winning, locally owned hotels in Rodney Bay Village on the country’s northwest coast.

All three of Bay Gardens Resorts properties – Bay Gardens Inn, Bay Gardens Hotel and Bay Gardens Beach Resort & Spa – are within walking distance of over 40 restaurants, entertainment, duty-free shopping malls, and the recently opened Treasure Bay Casino.
