American reggae band SOJA is confirmed for the 19th annual Jamaica Jazz & Blues Festival scheduled for the Trelawny Multi-Purpose Stadium in Falmouth from January 29-31.
This marks the band's first performance and visit to Jamaica.
"SOJA has been on our radar for years, and now we have this American super-Reggae band as part of our line-up for 2015. We're glad that it's to be part of Jamaica Jazz & Blues," said Walter Elmore, the festival's producer
SOJA, based in Arlington, Virginia, was formed in 1997 by childhood best friends, lead singer/guitarist/writer Jacob Hemphill and bassist Bobby Lee.
"We've been waiting for the right time, for real vibes," said Lee.
The band has successfully blended reggae, hip-hop, Latin, folk, and rock on its past five albums. The latest, Amid the Noise and Haste, entered the Billboard Reggae Album chart at number one, where it remained for six weeks.
