Poetry in Motion has established itself as a staple on the Jamaican cultural and entertainment menu.This year we have yet another very special treat with Jamaica's premier Performing Arts Feast featuring Yasus Afari, Professor Verene Shepherd, Dr Michael Abrahams, Francois St Juste, Kellie Magnus, Dufton Shepherd, Annmarie Wilmot, Ashley Little, Charmaine Gooden-Monteith, Reggie's African Link, a surprise guest and this year's special guest artiste is none other than the amazing and inspirational singing sensation, Leroy ''Heptones'' Sibbles.

Jamaica's Premiere Black History Month Event

The annual Poetry in Motion, which is Jamaica's premier Black History Month event, showcases Music, Dance, Comedy, Story Telling, Fashion and Poetry, thereby creating what has become known as The Feast of the Performing Arts. Over the years Poetry in Motion has features many iconic cultural luminaries and has developed and inspired many poets and other aspiring performers. Ashley 'Poetry in Motion Baby' Little represents the epitomy of what Poetry in Motion aspires to achieve. She was inspired to write poetry at the inaugural staging of Poetry in Motion. Now Ashley has become a staple at Poetry in Motion and is now a first year medical student at UWI and she is highly anticipated at Poetry in Motion 2014.

Arts for Charity - Providing Clean Intelligent Fun For The Entire Family

From it's inception, Poetry in Motion has magnetized people from across Jamaica with it's high quality Clean Intelligent Fun For The Entire Family and this phenomenum continues to grow. This is most deserving as Poetry in Motion is a unique charitable event with it's designated charity receiving the charity cheque, on stage, at each staging. Several charities have benefited from Poetry in Motion's generosity and this year, the Dr Gilbert and Georgia Allen Educational Trust is the Poetry in Motion 2014 Charity
The International Year of Poetree - In Salute to Jamaican Women

Poetry in Motion 2014 will again make it's unique contribution in the celebration of Black History Month by way of paying recognition to 2014 - The International Year of Poetree as well as paying a very special tribute to the celebrated poet and women's rights activist, Una Marson and our Jamaican women.

Jamaica has now re-introduced the Poet Laureate programme on February 16th and Poetry in Motion may be the first event to publicly acknowledge, celebrate and present the Poet Laureate of Jamaica.

You are again invited to join the Poetry in Motion Family on Sunday February 23rd at the Manchester Golf Club, Brumalia Road in Mandeville starting at 6:00pm. Come and live the experience of Poetry in Motion 2014 - The Feast of the Performing Arts with Clean Intelligent Fun for the Entire Family.
