Jamaican Williams creates NCAA history

Defending NCAA Indoor and Outdoor champion in both long and triple jumps, Jamaican Kimberly Williams of Florida State University dominated the competition in the triple jump last weekend at the Tyson Invitational indoor meet producing the third farthest jump in college history. With a personal best 14.17m (46ft-6in) the 21-year-old former Vere Technical student earned the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) female performer of the week ending February 14. "Kimberly's performance at the Tyson meet was phenomenal," FSU head coach Bob Braman said on the Seminoles website. "Recording the third best jump in (NCAA) history says it all. She's not just the best track and field athlete in the ACC, but the entire country," he added.
