Jamaican Dancehall singer Ce’Cile says she is ready to light up the stage at this year’s ‘Ultra Glow’ party organized by Snapper’s International. ‘Ultra Glow’ is Saint Lucia’s original glow and “all white party” and will be held Christmas Eve December 24 at the Gaiety on Rodney Bay. In the past the event has featured the likes of International DJ’s Black Chiney, but this year organizers says it is time to step up the game. Ce’Cile will be performing and hosting the event live alongside Saint Lucia’s Soca King, Ricky T. The STAR spoke to Ce’Cile this week from Jamaica and she said she was excited to be coming back to the island. “Saint Lucia now come like home, I love the vibes. The last time I was there with Lady Saw it was a club setting, we really mash up the place. Then recently I was part of the Divas show, didn’t get to do as much, but it was still a nice show. But now we are back to a club setting which always allow me to do a lot more, so I am really excited about that,” Ce’Cile told us. According to her, Saint Lucians can expect to get every bit of the best of Ce’Cile since this is the last of her overseas engagements for the year. The year 2010 saw the Dancehall singer doing tours in Germany and France as well as a number of spot dates across the Caribbean and numerous shows in Jamaica. “I toured basically during the first quarter of the year and took the rest of the year to do the Caribbean and Jamaica and also to rebrand the Cecile brand,” she said. This year has been the one where Ce’Cile scored the most singles, releasing more than a dozen hot ones with various producers. Among them were songs like ‘Nah Stress Over Man,’ with a video medley featuring Shaggy, Rayvon and Vybz Kartel as well as ‘Anything’ or ‘Cook For You,’ as some people calls it, ‘Home Tonight,’ ‘Baby Go,’ ‘Same Gyal,’ and ‘Mi Second Man.’ “So the fans can expect to see me performing some of these songs for the first time as well as a number of my past hits,” she says. Part of the singer’s year for rebranding also included a LIME endorsement deal and she is featured in the LIME ‘Christmas Pon de Remix’ ad campaign. LIME is also a sponsor of Glow as well as Heineken and Saint Lucia Distillers. Ce’Cile says she is looking forward to the event since this will be her first time here for Christmas and she’ll be heading back to Jamaica in time to perform at Sting on Boxing Day. “I like the concept of the party, so you can expect that Ce’Cile will be shining bright on Christmas Eve,” she says laughing. “I really want to do this event as my gift to Saint Lucia especially the ladies who always come out to support Ce’Cile and all in all we will have some fun with some old and some new songs,” she adds. Groomed on the moniker “bad gyal Ce’Cile” the singer released her first recording at the youthful age of fifteen and later found herself harmonizing in and out of the recording studio for artists like Spanner Banner, Norris Man, Chrisinti and a host of others. However it was not until her song ‘Changez’ which uses humour to explain her reasoning for not engaging in sexual relations with other artists, that the industry and fans really started taking note. She later went on to release a number of collaborations including ‘Can You Do De Wuk’ with Sean Paul and another international hit song ‘Loser,’ and ‘Give It To Me.’ Her 2008 CD was loaded with hits including “So Fly” with Beenie man, ‘Ride or Die,’ ‘Hot Like We,’ ‘Goody, Goody,’ and the ever popular and still fresh ‘I’m Waiting.’ No doubt this is what her fans will be chanting in anticipation of her arrival here later his month for Ultra Glow Christmas Eve edition 2010!
