LUCEA, Hanover  Jamaica —

The Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries has allocated $7 million to undertake much-needed repairs on the Rural Agricultural Development Authority (RADA) parish office in Hanover.

The announcement was made today by Junior Agriculture and Fisheries Minister Ian Hayles during the handing over ceremony of a pool vehicle valued at $2.2 million to the parish office.

The vehicle will be use to assist in the day-to-day operations of RADA in Hanover. Employees and farmers in the parish have long complained that the absence of a pool vehicle was adversely impacting on productivity. The parish has been without a pool vehicle for more that four years.

Meanwhile, Hayles also announced that his ministry has allocated $2 million to repair roads in the vicinity of the RADA parish office in Hanover. Work, he said, is expected to begin soon.
