Tropical Storm Matthew has formed just east of the Caribbean, about 35 miles southeast of St. Lucia, and the National Hurricane Center predicts the storm could become a hurricane by Friday.
A Tropical Storm Warning is in effect for Guadeloupe and Martinique; St. Lucia; Dominica; Barbados; St. Vincent; and the Grenadine Islands.
The forecast track has Matthew moving through the Windward Islands then over the eastern Caribbean through Friday.
Most forecast models suggest the storm will turn north in the central Caribbean, but some have it maintaining a more westward trajectory before doing so, potentially bringing it closer to Cayman.
