Beauty, passion, sensuality and anything erotic, all seem to rise on the precious quality of being temporary, ending at any moment, fleeting. Erotic Art Week (EAW) celebrates its third anniversary and is making a call to all artists to participate in this unique experience. The ten-day erotic art event runs from September 21–30, and as in previous years, will be spread across a number of venues, mainly in the Woodbrook area. EAW’s 2011 theme is Temporalis.
Artists in every discipline are invited to explore the temporal nature of the things that turn us on. This is the first year a theme has been defined, and interested parties are invited to submit questions and discussion.

APPLICATION FORM AND GUIDELINES
The Erotic Art Week T&T committee invites proposals from visual and performing artists interested in exploring and exhibiting works of erotic art. For this third instalment artists will be encouraged to explore ideas in the erotic realm in the context of the things and ways we do, hide, prohibit, expose and imagine in sensual, sexual T&T.
The committee is looking for contemporary works that explore erotica in earnestness and honesty—works that delve into the under-explored local vernacular erotica.
The committee is interested in, but not limited to:
• 2D and 3D work
• Performances
• Short film/video
• Spoken word and poetry
• Innovative uses of new technology
• Advertising
SELECTION CRITERIA
Artistic merit: Does the proposed work show a mastery or high degree of experimentation in technique? Does the work eloquently address the challenge of “provoking the sexual as opposed to portraying sex or the sexual response?” Does the project advance a concept in the work of the proposing artist?
Relevance: Does the project have a unique approach to the theme? Does it shed new light on some aspect of erotica in T&T and the Caribbean? Does it take an innovative approach to presenting ideas?
Feasibility: Is the scope of the project compatible with the resources of the EAW for the event?
How will the installation be maintained for the duration of the festival? Are there clear plans and resources to realise the project?
