The HALO Society which stands for Helping to Achieve Life's Opportunities is a non-profit organization which was recently formed by a group of friends.
Most of our members are youths, however we do have helping hands from teachers, parents and the Social Development Commission.
We have recently made a number of successful donations to our local hospital and infirmary which have been made possible by our fundraising activities .
We have recently been discussing and also believe that Autism is not given the full attention required and so would like to play our part.
We would like to have a walk-a-thon to raise some funds and donate to your organization as we want to contribute to the progress that we feel The Maia Chung Autism & Disabilities Foundation is making.
This walk-a-thon will be held at the Folly Oval, Port Antonio, Portland it's a 8k walk, it will commence at 10 a.m., however we ask that everyone arrive at 8 in order to be registered and properly informed about the activities happening through out the day.
We have the local police station on board, business places and are currently using our local media sources for advertising.
After the walk which is expected to end by 12:30, we plan on having a education session as well as entertainment which will get participants in the giving mood.
All in all we want to create an atmosphere of fun, enjoyment. awareness and nation building.
The mapping of the walk can be seen on our facebook page which you can 'like' as well as view photos of our previous work.
