St Lucian teen riding high in US

One-to-watch: Eighteen-year-old Enella Brice is doing big things abroad. A young St Lucian student attending college in the United States is among the winners in an Aéropostale Real Teens 2010 contest. Ms Enella Brice is an 18 year old, former student of the Vieux-Fort Comprehensive Secondary School and is currently enrolled in a nursing programme at Mount Aloysious College in Cresson, Pennsylvania. The contest which attracted in excess of 14,000 participants was designed to target everyday teenagers that aspire to do the right thing in life; utilizing qualities of compassion, integrity and teamwork. The contest takes the form of two rounds, where the top 87 participants in round one received $100 Aéropostale gift cards and a Flip Video™ Camcorder which will be used to record personal video content for the second round. The winners then proceed to the final round, where eight Real Teens (4 male, 4 female) will each receive a USD$5,000 personal college scholarship and have the chance to represent Acro in their fall advertising campaign. The winners will be announced during the week of April 26, 2010. Ms Brice thanks the general public who voted, encouraged her or in any other way supported her during the contest. She is of the view that the support from her family, friends, former school mates and the general St Lucian public assisted in her success during the contest. She also promises that she will do all within her power to be among the top eight in the final round.
