Renovation work on the Nannyville Health Centre in Kingston is currently underway.
The scope of work for the project includes the installation of a chain- link perimeter fence, paving of the drive way, landscaping, installation of a new roof and ceiling, electrical upgrade, grill work, installation of plumbing fixtures and air conditioning units.
The work on the building is expected to cost approximately $26.9 million, while an additional $24.6 million will be used to purchase furniture and equipment for the facility. The contract for this project is valued at $51 Million and is being funded by the National Health Fund.
“The Nannyville Health Centre has been closed for several years and so we want to ensure that work in completed in a timely manner so that the residents can begin to access health care services from this facility as soon as possible,” Dr. Andrei Cooke, Acting SERHA Board Chairman said.
“This project is slated to be completed by the end of July.”
The Nannyville Health Centre is just one of a number of health centres slated for renovation and or expansion by SERHA this year.
The Region will also renovate and or expand the Bath, Arcadia, Rowllands Field and Yallahs Health Centres in St. Thomas; the Hagley Park, Red Hills, Padmore, Rock Hall, Lawrence Tavern and Stony Hill Health Centres in Kingston and St. Andrew and the Greater Portmore Health Centre in St. Catherine.
Additionally, the Golden Spring Health in St. Andrew is to be reconstructed and upgraded through funding from the Jamaica Social Investment Fund (JSIF).
