Last week the week ending February 1 2013, the staff of the Rural Agricultural Development Authority (RADA)... spent time in St. Mary, getting two of our major projects, set and established that will see to the Food Security and Safety underway.
Here are some photos from RADA of us the team in Uddersfield St. Mary, Jamaica as well as at the Trinity Boxing Plant in St. Mary.
In Uddersfield, RADA staff will begin the training of 20 farmers in Apiculture with a view to spawning more and more Apiculturists in that area.
We were also at the European Union Support Programme's EUBSP's signing of a document, between the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, the European Union and RADA which officialises the injection of over 13 million dollars to help resuscitate the Banana sector in the east parishes where bananas and plantains are heavily cultivated - after these fields were ravaged by Hurricane Sandy in 2012. This signing took place at the Trinity Banana Boxing Plant mere hours before we moved on to Uddersfield.
