The South East Regional Health Authority (SERHA) has joined global partners in celebrating Global Handwashing Day on October 15, 2013.
This day is particularly significant in highlighting proper hand washing techniques, which has been proven essential in reducing the transmission of infectious diseases.
SERHA launched its Global Handwashing Day Poster and Song Competition for grade six students in June, 2013.
Sixteen schools participated in the competition.
The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony; to be held on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. at the Conference Room of the National Chest Hospital, 16 ½ Barbican Road Kingston Jamaica.
