Former Executive Director of the Human Rights lobby group, Jamaican's for Justice (JFJ) Dr. Carolyn Gomes has resigned from the position of Executive Director, with effect from 31st December 2013.
Dr. Gomes, a founding member of JFJ and its first Chairperson, has served as its Executive Director for eleven years.
Her commitment to the principles and work of the organization has been unstinting. She has fought tirelessly with others for the promotion and protection of Human Rights for all Jamaican citizens.
Come today Thursday December 19-2013 at 4:00 p.m. Jamaicans for Justice will be hosting a farewell function for Dr. Gomes at the Stella Maris Pastoral Centre, room six, at 62 Shortwood Road, Kingston 8, Jamaica.
Dr. Gomes has come to the national consciousness of Jamaica through her consistent fight for the upholding of the fundamental human rights of the Jamaican people.
In advising of today's event the JFJ lauded Dr. Gomes saying "her dedication, leadership and courage continue to be an inspiration to JFJ as an organization. JFJ will be hosting a farewell function to thank Dr. Gomes for her years of service.
