The Jamaican government will be launching its Praedial Larceny Farm Watch programme this Friday December 6-2013.

Reginald Grant, Praedial Larceny Prevention Coordinator with the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries (MOA&F) will be overseeing the process, at the Savoy New Beginning Church, Chapleton, in the parish of Clarendon.

The “Farm Watch” programme has been designed to address the contentious issue of Praedial larceny affecting Jamaican farmers, by increasing awareness, fostering relationships between farmers, neighbours police, other critical stakeholders, as well as striving to prevent thefts and vandalism of property.

The programme is a partnership between rural farming communities and the police and mirrors the neighbourhood watch concept, to encourage vigilance and communication.
