The Jamaica Society for the Blind is spearheading the development of services for persons who have been diagnosed with low vision.

To achieve this objective they have embarked on a drive to raise funds to erect a new floor on existing premises at 111 ½ old Hope Road, Kingston 6 Jamaica,  to house the low Vision Centre.

The Embassy of Japan has agreed to assist with a significant portion of the funds
needed to erect this project.


To this end there will be a grant signing ceremony on Thursday February 20-2014 at the Lions Resource Centre at the University of the West Indies Campus Mona.

Health Minister Dr. Fenton Ferguson will deliver a brief address and the event is set to start at 10 : 00 a.m.
