eliteBUZZ Magazine – Jamaica: The Caribbean witnessed the show of a lifetime, when International Superstar Celine Dion rocked the 16th Annual Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival in Trelawny Jamaica. The Diva left no stones un-turned as she wowed the thousands with her breathtaking performance, fantastic outfits and her ability to connect with her audience. It is now official, Jamaica is the undisputed entertainment hub of the Caribbean, and no other island may venture close – at least no time soon.
The issues patrons of the Festival faced a couple years ago with Miss Diana Ross will now be forgotten, as Walter Elmore (Art and Music Productions – AMP Chairman), along with his team has definitely redeemed themselves. Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival 2012 has set a very high standard for any other event that should follow in that region for the rest of the year, as this production and the line-up of artistes will be very hard to beat.
Jamaican and internationally acclaimed journalist Janet Silvera has ably reviewed the event and gave it extremely high scores, stating “Like a drug suddenly removed from the addicted, Celine Dion left her audience yearning and in awe last”, which is all the endorsement an event organizer will ever need to begin planning for next year.
Far more than fashion “flaws”
eliteBUZZ Magazine took note of the energy within the venue, and we can confidently state that a few other US based magazines in their analysis of the event are totally off the mark or simply weren’t there. Reports about Celine’s fashion “flaws” are totally baseless. The Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival has become a calendar activity for over a decade, and has featured more than a handful of world favorites. This year, however, Celine Dion as the event’s headliner and the successful “execution” of the event were more than a boost to the reputation of the JJBF, it has catapulted this entertainment event to World Class Status and Celine Dion has given them that edge.
The International Diva mesmerized her fans with hits such as “where does my heart beat now” and “it’s all coming back to me”. Her team obviously did their research, as she belled songs that are predominantly favorites of the Jamaican population. Additionally, Celine was gracious to share the stage with Jamaican Diva Diana King, who, in her own right, has taken Jamaican music to the globe, and may easily be considered a living legend.
Celine Dion, who is 43 years young*wink*, had two kids a little over a year ago; no one could tell she’s either 43 or “nursing” babies, as she was totally in shape, on form, looking radiant as ever and her vocals were on point – as usual.
The bar has been set real high. The AMP Team has work to do. Celine is not easy to beat.
