Carnival makeup can present one of the most challenging aspects of the female masquerader’s costume. Yet it is this finishing touch that can make or break your look on Carnival Monday and Tuesday.
For masqueraders who want to maximise their Carnival budget by taking the do-it-yourself approach to their looks, this year makeup giant Revlon has created three playful, dramatic and most importantly, long lasting looks to carry you through the season looking your best.
With the help of makeup artist Sandra Hordatt, photographer Calvin French (and costumes from Carnival band Tribe) the company displayed these simple yet impressive looks on models Denesa, Avionne and Kimi using Colorstay Aqua Mineral Makeup, Custom Eyes Shadow and Liner and Colorburst lipstick.
Before makeup application, faces were prepped by Revlon’s lead makeup artist, Dianne Mongru with Colorstay Softflex liquid makeup and Colorstay Aqua Mineral powder foundation. Gems and jewels were the inspiration behind the three unique looks created by Hordatt and is also the name of the new Revlon Colorstay 12-hour eyeshadow used, together with Revlon Matte Shadow, Venetian Blue, to create the bold Sapphire and Topaz look on model Denesa.
Avionne’s Amethyst purple look was created using Custom Eyes Shadow Party Pops and Luxurious Color Perle Shadow Violet Starlet. Amber and Mandarin Garnet formed the basis of Kimi’s look using Custom Eyes Shadow in Naturally Glamorous end Luxurious Perle shadow in Brushed Copper.
Each model’s look was completed with lashes, Revlon waterproof mascara, a touch of blush, a wash of Colorburst lipgloss, and finally matching nails using new Revlon Top Speed nail enamel.
