Brightworks Promotion One Love Concert

Greensboro, N.C. Sean Paul surprise peformance in Greensboro was a highlight of a day filled with very good performances. Brightworks Promotion LLC has once again demonstrated that they are the pre-eminent promoter of Reggae events in the Carolinas and surrounding states. The day's events got off to strong start with the rock/reggae band The Movement out of Columbia S.C. Four guys who really know how to rock. Great vocals, tight bass line and a wicked rythym section that any reggae band out of Jamaica would be proud of. The Movement played tracks from their new CD release "Set Sail" and the crowd loved it. The evening saw a lot of minor acts leading up to the heavies. Inner Circle was played a very well received set, riffing on Bad Boys and many of their other hits. They closed their set with an acappelo version of Bob Marley's One Love which the thousands loved and joined in. One of the best acts of the night was Tanya Stephens who had the ladies screaming and the men blushing. "Handle the Ride", It's a Pity","These Streets" and "Boom Wuk". She had the fans eating out of her hands and validates why she is one of the best on stage performers in the business.

Serani, Bounty Killer, and Movado shared the last hour of the show leading up to Greensboro's mandated 11PM concert curfew. Serani performed a very tight smooth flowing set, sticking with his major hits. This was the perfect introduction for Bounty Killer who did most of his popular hits which had the crowd rocking. Bounty Killer, never the one to shy away from controversial topics made sure to fans knew where he stood on issues close to his heart. You get the drift! Bounty Killer remains one of the better dancehall performers and he delivered on Sunday night. Movado closed out the night with thirty minutes of fast moving dancehall lyrics. He was energetic in his set and got the crowd raving as he smoothly went through his major hits. You could tell during his performance that the crowd wanted the show to go for at least another hour as they were really getting into it. When Movado closed there was a palpable sigh in the crowd but then all roads led to Club Genesis where the after party revved up. From what the writer have been told, that party went into the wee hours of Monday. All in all another wonderful day of great reggae organized by Brightworks Promotion. We are all waiting for the 6th Annual One Love Reggae Festival in 2010. Glen Graham reporting: Check with GBurkeImages.com for more photos.
